We all have our go to places for encouragement and I wanted to share a few of mine. These are all women who love the Lord and encourage me, challenge me, and call me on to being the woman the Lord wants me to be. I hope they will be a blessing you too.
His Mercy is New – In Your War Room by Candace Crabtree
If you haven’t seen the movie War Room be sure to check it out. It’s one that will cause you to think deeply and will more than likely change your life.
Candace begins her article on this movie with, “Every day, minute by minute, we are in a battle. Our very lives, and the lives of our families, are a war zone. There is no need to fear our enemy, but an awareness of the battle at hand is much needed!”
I think we tend to forget that we do indeed have an enemy and his purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy us and our families.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.John 10:10 ESV ”
Candace writes cutting edge articles that will encourage you and challenge you.
She has a free In Your War Room printable for you.

Coffee For Your Heart – We Don’t Have to Make a Name For Ourselves by Holly Gerth
Holly’s blog and writing is a recent discovery for me. She does beautiful graphics and offers them free to people like me who were born without that creative gene.
Her articles are usually short, making them a quick read, but they are always filled with much Godly wisdom.
It continually amazes me that there are so many women who are well versed in the Bible and take the time to share with us what the Lord is showing them. Most of them are younger than me, but I call them my younger older women. 🙂
If you are like me and want to have an online mentor, follow Holly and grow along with me.
Stop over and visit her at Coffee For Your Heart.
Raising Arrows – It’s Not A Season I’m In by Amy
Amy’s enthusiasm is contagious!
She is a deep thinker, and makes me pause to think through many different topics, including this one on seasons of life. She prefers to call it a journey. That was a totally new thought to me.
My children are all young adults now. From this perspective I do see my life as a journey, but it is a journey with seasons. The season of having lots of littles, the season of having both littles and teens, the homeschooling season, the young adult season.
My journey has taken me through all of these. They’ve all been different and wonderful and difficult in their own way.
If you are like me and like to have some enthusiasm added to your day along with some ideas that will make you think, then wander over to Raising Arrows and check it out.
Alana Terry -An author who continues to be a blessing to me every time I read something she has written.
This is the first book I read by Alana. Her writing is edgy but realistic. This series on North Korea has opened my eyes and heart more to the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Christ who are living under unbelievable difficulties for believing in our Savior.
I think I’m a better person for having read them and I now have a heart to pray for these people.
These books will be a blessing to you as you see how parts of our family are suffering TODAY. Yes, that’s the part that tears at my heart. This isn’t something that happened 50 years ago. It is happening right now, on our watch.
Alana is offering your a copy of her book Paralyzed free! Just click the link for your free download.
Shoshanna Gabriel An amazing testimony
This is one of the most powerful testimonies I have read in a long time. Shoshanna is one of the owners of the ebook cover company where my daughter Rebekah has her shop. Shoshanna has always designed covers for erotica, as well as being a prolific writer of erotica. Rebekah has stayed far away from her and has only dealt with the other owner of the site.
Then Shoshanna became a believer over an amazing series of incidents and has totally changed her life. She gave up a six book contract because she could no longer write erotica and she didn’t even decide to stop. As the Lord renewed her mind, her stories just became less of that until her characters hardly even kiss.
I hope you will click over to her site and read her remarkable story and welcome this new sister in Christ. She will be as much of a blessing to you as she has been to me.

Deborah Heal The Time and Again Trilogy and The Rewinding Time Series
Picture this: A new computer program Beautiful Houses—too amazing to be real. No one knows how it works, but with it she can rewind and fast-forward the lives of all the people who ever lived in the house…
This first novel totally captured my attention and now I read them as soon as she gets them written.
Now you can get the first one free!
Time and Again (The History Mystery Series Book 1) Kindle edition is free on Amazon. Time and Again is in the top 10 Christian Time Travel novels for Kindle.
Deborah’s website has tons of interesting historical material about each novel. Yes, these are historical novels and I’ve learned so much by reading them. She weaves her stories around actual historical events and people and makes it fascinating.
Katie Hornor of Como Blog Connection has been my mentor for about the last year and has been a huge blessing.
This is a membership site where we can post questions and receive help from Katie or others in the group. Katie holds bi-weekly chats when she teaches on a topic of interest, often one we’ve requested, and bi-weekly times when we can call in and talk with her about a 5-10 minute question that she will help us with personally.
The member site contains a wealth of articles, classes, and books that Katie has written and supplies free to members.
She is very generous with her time and talents and doesn’t make me feel dumb because I don’t know some things about blogging, marketing, SEO or other topics that she is so knowledgeable about. She teaches in a way that even I can understand.
I’ve learned in days things that I’ve struggled to understand for years.

Phyllis – thank you so much for including me in this awesome list! Such kind words! 🙂
Thank you for including me! Your daughter Rebekah is such a talented artist. We are blessed to work with her! While I never created book covers myself (I’m the creator and co-founder SelfPubBookCovers, and the author liaison; I leave the book covers to the professional artists so our authors can have the very best of the best) — I started that site in 2012 back when I was writing successfully as Shoshanna Evers.
GOD changed my path so completely, and I ended up giving up those books and started writing Christian inspirational romance as Shoshanna Gabriel (took a little longer to write the first book than I’d planned, as we were blessed with twins shortly after I “came out” as a Christian!). I’m forever grateful to have found that the Messiah I was looking for as a Jewish woman was JESUS all along!!
Hi Shoshanna,
I read your testimony when Rebekah told me about it. We were all very excited for you and how the Lord would use you.
I wasn’t a believer until I was 30 so I understand a little what you are going through.
We are proud of Rebekah. We home schooled and she is self taught – no college degree. We taught our children to be life long learners,
and we are seeing the advantage of that in all three of our children. If they want to know something they get on the computer and search
until they know what they want to know. Now they teach us!
Thanks again for stopping by.
May the Lord bless you and keep you…Numbers 6.
Thanks for this great list, Phyllis. I am familiar with Holly’s site and I’ll have to check out the others. Thanks for linking up with Grace and Truth.
Thanks for stopping by Aimee. I’m glad you’re checking out some of my favorite sites.
Thanks for introducing me to Deborah Heal and her books. This genre is one of my faves! And I’ve added scripture from Candace’s war room post to my arsenal. 🙂
You are so welcome Stephanie. When yo read Deborah’s books let me know what you think.
Phyllis, I am honored to be included among these Christian women. Thanks so much for creating this wonderful post. I’m going to click on all the links for the others and check them out.
