When our pastor said this in a sermon I was reminded of how much difference a word can make. In the above sentence the only difference is from or in, but they mean totally different things.
David wrote a lot about hiding in God:
“Thou [art] my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.” – Psalm 32:7 KJV
“Thou [art] my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.” – Psalm 119:114 KJV
The first time hiding from God is mentioned is:
“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where [art] thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I [was] naked; and I hid myself.” – Genesis 3:10 KJV
Yes, our sin causes us to feel shame and we tried to hide ourselves from God.
Try – we all try, but we really can’t hide from God, but.
What are you trying to hide from God?
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9 KJV
Hiding has never worked so go meet with the Lord today and return to hiding in HIM.

I’m really good at hiding so I need to remind myself too.
What Joy Is Mine
Phyllis…How easy we forget that He knows all and yet we think we can hide. Thankfully, God does not desire for us to hide from Him but to run to Him. Thank you for the encouragement and for sharing at WJIM this week. Have a blessed week.

Hiding from God…how many times do I find myself wanting to do just that. I’m so thankful that we can choose to hide IN Him instead. Such encouraging words.

Thank you for that note of encouragement. The picture is from Lori Law’s website. http://www.lorilaws.net/free-graphics/ She makes stunning graphics with Scripture that are available for public use and doesn’t want any credit. Sorry Lori – gotta give you some credit here. 🙂

A striking post-title! I love the picture with Isaiah verses written on an old paper – convoying the Message of comfort and hope!

Very good points, so why is it that so many time we try to hide? Human nature I guess.

We all understand that the Lord knows everything we do, yet we somehow think we can manage to keep something from Him. Not very logical, is it. Thanks for stopping by.
