When You Get A Cancer Diagnosis

Hi Ladies,

How are you all doing? Everyone hunkered down? Are you finding some new things to do? Are you enjoying this extra time with your family? Are you trying not to worry about Covid-19?

I know I am doing all the things above, and then some.

They diagnosed me with breast cancer.

I’ve been doing all the things that need to get done before surgery. Lots of exams and tests mainly.

I haven’t been out of the house since my preop physical on the 17th. Dan is trying to keep me well so I can have the surgery.

Now the surgery is tomorrow at 9 AM Central.

I’m grateful for a good medical team – more about that later. I’m also grateful for my family and how they care for me. My church family is sending cards and emails with Scripture to encourage me.

Thank you to all of you who have emailed me with encouraging words and thoughts.

How can people possibly go through something like this without the Lord?

I feel so blessed.

I am doing well and I’m sure it’s because of all the prayers that are going up to the Lord on our behalf.

Just for fun…This is my son Eric, his wife Heather, and their baby Lydia. Eric is 27 years out from having leukemia.

Here is a link to part of his story.

God is good – all the time. All the time – God is good.
