I wrote to Nicole Johnson and just received a letter from her representative. They asked that I remove her quote from my site until they see if they can get permission from the publisher. I’ve apologized to her. Please follow this link to read her quote.

We can still remember that we are building cathedrals.

What kind of cathedrals are you building?
Thanks Michelle for the heads up on the article and who the author is – I was just about to reprint it as anonymous.
Actually I LOVE Nichole Johnson’s books – I got together about 8 ladies and we went through the “Fresh Brewed Life Club” book and it was awesome. Really insightful!

Actually, I have read, and highly recommend the book that this article was taken from. It is called “The Invisible Woman – when only God sees” by Nicole Johnson, Thomas Nelson Publishers, 2005 (93 pp.).
It gives hope no matter what the ages of ones children, but particularly for those with older children who may be wondering if all their training was for naught.
Hi Phyllis,
thank you for this! What a beautiful analogy of what we, as Moms, are doing.
It isn’t actually by “anonymous” and there is actually more to this piece than you were sent. You can read the full article here: http://www.parenthood.com/articles.html?article_id=10240 I just loved it and sent the link to a number of my friends so they could enjoy it as well. It was very well received and a terrific reminder that we aren’t really invisible, especially to the one for whom it counts the most, even if we sometimes feel as though we are.
