Where do people even store all these single purpose items?
I’ve never been a fan of items that you can only use for one thing.
I don’t own a strawberry huller, but I own a good paring knife that I can use on any fruit or vegetable.
So what would prompt me to fall in love with three single purpose items? Items that only do one thing. I guess you need to see them to understand.
Who likes to cut up mangos? How about pineapples? And we love meatloaf, but not when it’s sitting in the grease that comes out even from 90% lean meat.
Well I’ve discovered the easy answers to all these problems.
A mango cutter. Yes, that’s all it does is cut mangos. I love mangos, but I’ve never been able to follow the directions that say they make cutting them up easy. This cutter easily removes the seed so you can easily cut the rest of it.
And then there are pineapples. Mine usually look more butchered than sliced.
It’s a lot of work to cut it so it looks nice.
Here is a more general link to OXO. They have a lot of my favorite products.
After looking at several meatloaf pans I settled on this one. It has two sets of handles so you can easily lift the insert out and set it on a tray to finish draining it before turning it onto a plate to slice and serve.

ha! we all have our weaknesses!! I buy these one off things – and then get frustrated with them – the mango and pineapple cutters are prime examples. Just give me a sharp knife!! But recipe books – with only one recipe in it that looks like my family will eat it! Just gotta buy it! In renovating my kitchen I’m trying to make some decision to lighten the load – but it is hard! Enjoyed your post today – and thanks for highlighting my hospitality post.

But the mango and pineapple cutters really do work. I got them for Christmas and use them often. I’m surprised because those things usually aren’t worth the drawer space they take up, but these too items really do what they say they do.
