When I saw this graphic by Holley Gerth I was immediately reminded of the framed newspaper ad that has been on the wall in our home since we got married 30 years ago.

One morning I went out and found this ad taped to my car’s steering wheel.

We now have three special items hung together where we see it first thing in the morning.

These three items have always been special to me. The ad with the hat says [Tweet “Together We’re Better “]and was one of the first things Dan gave. I’m not sure he thought I would keep it and frame it, but it was very special to me.

I have it hung with our verse:

Ephesians 3: 20-21 -“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

 We’ve always felt that way about each other and the life together that the Lord has given us. I was going to have the reference inscribed on the inside of Dan’s wedding band. I told them to put Eph. 3: 20-21 – Apparently I should have explained it better because the person who did the inscription wasn’t familiar with Scripture references and put – E.P.H. 3 20 21.

I love having Scripture on my walls – Surrounded by the Word

 The third item is our wedding invitation.

All these things remind me of how blessed I am to be married to this man. What you do to remind you what a blessing your husband is?

    Tracey, That is an amazing verse. I look at my life and I know it is above and beyond anything I ever thought I would have. Isn’t the Lord good to us?

    How neat! A great idea – as I was reading I was thinking how easy it is to celebrate our children more than our marriage. The conscious decision we have made is to have our wedding photo in our lounge room – but that is as much as a public/social statement not so much for my heart. Something to think about!

      You’re right about how celebrating our children is easier. I have these things hanging on the wall beside the bathroom door so I see it several times each day and am reminded of the blessings of those memories.

    Thanks so much for this very lovely and inspiring post. What an amazing verse that is in Ephesians. My husband and I have been through our ups and downs – lots of them but we know and always remind each other that – together we’re better. Thank you. Your neighbour at Grace and Truth this week.
