Purposeful Planning Weekend

Tomorrow our family will begin our annual planning weekend, so I thought I would put out a request for prayer. We will spend the next five days hunkered down at home, which won’t be too difficult to take, given the snow and below-zero temperatures we’ve been having in Minnesota. We will go out for a meal or two, attend church Sunday morning, and go to our writers’ group meeting – other than that we will stay in and try to stay warm.

This is a special time of year for our family and we all look forward to it. All of us have been putting items on our lists that we want to talk with each other about when it’s “our” time to share. It really is encouraging when your teens and young adults are excited about getting together with their parents to talk about what is happening in their lives and our families’ life together.

We’re trying out a new list of thought-provoking questions this year and I’m excited to see what doors they open as we each seek to answer them. Those of you, who have read my book, “Purposeful Planning”, know my never-ending search for quality questions that will help us to discuss what is going on in our lives and the lives of our children. This year Dan and I will take time to prayerfully answer these questions too. I’ll let you know the results next week, but I think this list is going to be one that we use often.

I also want to welcome all the new people who have joined my mailing list lately. I’m looking forward to getting to know you better and will continue to pray that you will be blessed by what I share.

Now, I’m off to make some final preparations for our time together.

Still Finding Joy in the Journey,
Phyllis

My husband and I went away to do our first planning weekend last fall. We did not take our children because they are all 10 and up and we have to much fun together and would not have gotten any work done. We spent two days working on planning but did not get thru the entire book (something came up) but what we did accomplish made a world of difference. Thank you for this book. Our prayers will go up for your week to be a blessing. Terri J
