Give it a chance…

This is where my book, Purposeful Planning differs. It outlines a plan that includes both husband and wife, and even brings the children alongside.

I’ve been reading a lot of different thoughts about New Year’s resolutions and planning. A lot of them had some very good ideas and prompted me to add to my plans of what I would like to accomplish in 2010.

One flaw that I saw in all of them is that they were all personal — plans for each person to do alone. This can lead to everyone in a family having individual plans that don’t work well with the plans of other family members.

This is where my book, Purposeful Planning differs. It outlines a plan that includes both husband and wife, and even brings the children alongside.

I think it’s extremely important for a husband and wife to not only do personal planning,  but to plan together for their marriage and family. This type of planning makes sure that husband and wife are on the same page, so to speak. It doesn’t limit individual goals, but ensures that they are compatible.

Purposeful Planning’s first goal is to bring husband and wife together to seek the Lord for His plans for themselves and their family.

Another advantage of planning together is that you have someone giving you an outside opinion of what you desire to accomplish.

In addition to that, Purposeful Planning encourages you to look at each area of your life and seek the Lord’s plan based on the Proverb “Without a vision the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18
