“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” – Proverbs 23:7 KJV
What do you spend your time thinking about? Scripture tells us what we should be thinking about:
“Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise,
think on these things.” – Philippians 4:8 KJV
Remember Jesus words:
“O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” – Matthew 12:34 KJV
Join me in being careful what we allow our hearts to think about.

It is a great Scripture to use with children. It is always a good idea to point them to Scripture and teach them how to apply it to their daily lives.

This is the scripture that I point my children to when that come to me with a request to watch or read something questionable. Makes determining a yes or no very simple! Thank you for sharing this wonderful verse!!

What encouragement and a great reminder of where our hearts should be focused. Thank you for sharing at What Joy Is Mine.

I did a whole series of posts on these scriptures. I started realizing the other day I’d been letting some things sneak into my heart again. It’s amazing the difference only focusing on good things can do to your thought life.
I’d love it if you’d link this post up with my encouraging hearts linky. http://www.lessonsfromivy.com/2012/04/encouragement-in-trials-with-linky.html
