Small things. They seem to take up more time than anything else – change that diaper, wipe that nose – again!
Some of our days are made up of small, uninteresting, or even boring things. It doesn’t matter if you are the CEO of a huge company or a stay at home mom there will be a lot of repetition and some things you just don’t enjoy.
- Who would think that making hundreds of little x’s would make a beautiful cross-stitched verse that you could hang on your wall to remind you of God’s goodness?
- Or all the repetition that goes into raising and training a child would produce that young man that you are so proud of.
- How about all the times when the only thing you could do was pray for a far away friend who was struggling, but she says your prayers got her through.
Yes, life is made up of dozens of small things – done over and over until the Lord reveals what they become. He sees the big picture, while we see the daily small things. Trusting the Lord in our small things will help us to continue to walk faithfully in whatever small things the Lord has given us.
“Who dares despise the day of small things?” (Zechariah 4:10, NIV)
