The Ultimate Blog Party is on! 5 Minutes for Mom is hosting this fun event. Be sure to stop there and check out some of the interesting websites and sign up for some of the great prizes. In the few minutes I’ve been able to spend checking out some of the sites I’ve found some very inspiring ones.
I’m fairly new to blogging – it’s been less than a year since my site went up, but I’m really enjoying the world of blogging.
I’ve been a stay-at-home-mom for 22 years. Our children are Emily (20), Rebekah (19), and Eric (16). We have been homeschooling for 15 years and have only one more year of high school with Eric. Our daughters are doing “home college” by taking distance ed classes from home.
I have always wanted to be a writer and have finally been able to put some time and effort into it during that last few years – now that our children are almost grown and I have a much more supervisory position in their teaching instead of the mostly hands on teaching I did when they were younger.
In addition to writing for my blog, I write for several magazines, for our homeschool newsletter, and recently wrote a book titled, “Purposeful Planning”. It’s about the planning weekends our family has had for the past 12 years. We set aside a few days in January to pray and discuss every area of our lives.
Does having your spouse’s undivided attention appeal to you? Planning weekends give you time to dream, to talk together about what you wish, or want, at a time when the other person is really listening.
Do you need a plan to keep your family moving in the direction the Lord is leading you? Perhaps you don’t know where the Lord is leading you. I take you step-by-step through the process of planning a time together for your family to help determine the path the Lord is choosing for each area of your life. Our family has followed this format for over 12 years and has found that it provides the compass they’ve needed to plan and stay on course.
This time-tested method of planning will give your family new direction for the future. Start today! Choose the dates for your planning weekend, read her book which has the entire “how to” included, and go for it!
I will have a drawing from those who leave a comment telling me why your family would benefit from winning a copy of my book, “Purposeful Planning”. You can read more about the book, including what others are saying about it, at my bookstore.
Have a great time at the Ultimate Blog Party!

Your book sounds great. My family could really benefit from this book because my husband recently started seminary and we are trying to make time for our family and really focus on what God has in store for our family. Looking forward to keeping in touch and God bless!

I would love to win the book! I have been trying to do better on planning my families time together. I guess I’m starting to see as my eldest reaches 13 – that time is short, make the most of it! Please enter me!
Hope you’re enjoying the party!

Congratulations on your book Phyllis! From what I’ve read and heard about Puposeful Planning, it is a tremendously useful tool to help any family “live life intentionally”. Hearing you use that phrase in an interview with Cindy Rushton really hit home with me. My heart’s desire for my marriage, parenting and homeschooling is to seek God’s will and purposes. I pray that God will bless your work, your ministry and all those who invest in their families by reading your book!

Hello, I am stopping by your site from the Ultimate Blog Party. I enjoy meeting fellow homeschooling moms. I would definately benefit from your book. I seem to be fairly good at planning the academics of schooling, but in the area of family goals and planning we seem to just fly by the seat of our pants.
Please stop by my party and comment. I am off to read more of your blog.
Blessings,
Margie
