Surprise!

It really did feel like Christmas the morning I discovered something I’ve missed for years.

It was a Scripture verse that I knew well. I had even memorized it. I’m sure many of you have too.

Philippians 4:6   Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

The Lord is at hand

I backed up and read verse 5 which says: Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand;  How had I managed to miss making that connection all of these years?

Having the Lord at hand gives me a great reason not to be anxious about anything. How about you?

Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. [Philippians 4:5-6 ESV]

Let this be my Christmas greeting to all of you.

“The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything,”
