Death By Chocolate recipe
Yesterday was our son’s birthday and he chose one of our all time favorite desserts for his birthday cake. I couldn’t resist sharing it with you today. It is beyond easy to make and never fails. As you can see, it is also extremely attractive and delicious looking.
He also wanted BBQ ribs. Even though that rates as both my husband and son’s favorite meal, I’ve always dreaded trying to make them. They never turned out the same way twice and I always felt like I was experimenting.
That is until I got this for Valentine’s Day!

Last night was the second time I made BBQ ribs with my Ninja and in and hour and a half I had perfect ribs! It was so easy I could hardly believe they could taste so good without any work.
I’m not getting paid to say this – We paid full price for it at Walmart. A friend told me how much she loved hers and after looking it over and reading about it I just had to try it.

It cooks like a slow cooker, or stove top, or oven and even steams.
- Stir paprika, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper in bowl. Rub ribs with paprika mixture. Season with salt and black pepper. (We used Famous Dave’s rib rub)
- Pour oil into pot. Set to STOVETOP HIGH and heat oil. Add half the ribs to pot. Cook uncovered 5 minutes or until browned on both sides. Remove ribs from pot. Repeat with remaining ribs. Remove ribs from pot.
- Pour broth into pot. Place roasting rack into pot. Place ribs on rack. Set OVEN to 375°F for 1 hour. Cover and cook until pork is fork-tender.
- Uncover pot and brush ribs with sauce. Set OVEN to 375°F for 30 minutes. Cover and cook until sauce is hot.
We’ve enjoyed trying the recipes that come with the Ninja or just following a technique and using it with one of our own recipes. I haven’t tried baking a dessert in it yet, but it has that capability and I’m looking forward to checking it out soon.
So if you have a birthday coming up or can wait until Mother’s Day I would suggest checking the Ninja Cooking System out and giving your husband some hints that this would be a great gift.

The Death By Chocolate dessert looks delicious. And such a great choice for a birthday treat.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing on Kids and a Mom in the Kitchen. I hope you will be able to join in again soon.

Karen that recipe is so easy that it’s a great favorite to do with my grands. If you can bake a cake you can make it and it looks like you’ve worked all day. It works well with angel food cake and strawberries too, with vanilla or custard type pudding.

I make a Triple Chocolate dessert that is very similar to yours. I don’t use the coffee flavoring or the toffee candy, instead I use chocolate chips or if I don’t forget, I’ll chunk up a Hershey’s chocolate bar to use. I think I’ll try them to see how my husband and son like them. I’m visiting from the blog hop.

I like variations. I’ll have to give that a try. We’ve used heath bars broken up for a toffee/chocolate taste.

Birthdays are one of the few times a year we would allow ourselves to eat something at decedent as the “Death By Chocolate!”
BTW, do you have an Amazon affiliate account? You could “sell” the Ninja by an affiliate link to them.

We do the same with rich desserts – and we practice portion control.
I do have an Amazon account but not an affiliate account. I’ll have to check that out. Thanks for sharing.
