Last November I did a review and giveaway of Lilla Rose hair clips. Many of you asked how my daughter Rebekah used it to style her hair and I said I would make a tutorial. Well, we finally did it! Sorry it took so long, but hopefully it was worth the wait. Let me know if you try it – you could even send me a photo of the finished product if you like.
– Gather your hair into a ponytail a little higher than the nape of your neck, and make sure it’s fairly tight.
– Part your hair near the scalp, creating a “nest,” still keeping the ponytail fairly tight.
– Pull your ponytail up, and tuck it inside (now the ponytail will start to loosen up – just try not get it too loose, or the bun looks sloppy). Especially if you have longer hair, be sure to use your fingers to push some of the hair out towards the side, evenly distributing it so that it isn’t lopsided with more hair tucked to one side than the other.
– Use a comb to smooth out the hair above where you’ve tucked your hair, and tuck in any loose ends (if necessary, use a few bobby pins on stray tails that won’t stay secured).
– Take your Lilla Rose clip (whatever size you need, depending on the amount and thickness of your hair) and use it to secure this tucked-in bun, being sure to roll the hair binder inward in order to hide it. You’ll need to “loop” the clip through the top sections of the bun, but also take a good section of hair near the scalp to make sure it stays in place.
