Family Road Trip Time!

I know that will happen sometime, probably sooner than later, but for this year we will do another family road trip.

We’re packing up a little early this year since Eric is in college we won’t be taking our September road trip since no one wants to travel without him. Our family road trips are special to all of us and it doesn’t seem right to do it without one family member.

I know that will happen sometime, probably sooner than later, but for this year we will do another family road trip.

We’re leaving on July 31 to bike down the Mississippi River from LaCrosse, Wi. The guys will bike most of the time, the two girls will bike some of the time, and I get to drive the sag wagon. That means I will pick up anyone who is sagging, bring picnic lunches, and whatever else needs doing. In between I’ll visit coffee shops with whoever isn’t biking, try to get some writing done, and explore.

Dan is a much better explorer than I am so we’ll do a lot of that as a family after the guys put in their 60-70 miles of biking for the day.

If you don’t do family road trips I would encourage you to try it sometime. It doesn’t have to be expensive.  I shared a lot of inexpensive travel ideas in this post.

Sarah Avila’s article Must-Do Attractions & Must-See Places in ALL 50 States is a must-save article. I’ve crisscrossed the US over the years and still found many places in her article that I haven’t seen and am hoping to check out a couple of them on our trip in August.

I’m off to prepare and pack. I hope I’ve encouraged you to try a family road trip soon.
